Running, jumping, standing still, the Chemists aren’t allowed to stock the pill IUDs and Condoms no longer on the shelf, keep sex at home and keep it to yourself IN QLD! But love is nothing in your right hand, Since Penthouse and Playboy have both been banned Prostitution’s a profession condemned and being gay can drive you round the bend IN QLD! Don’t walk down the pavement holding a flag, don’t hold marches down the main drag Don’t smoke a joint, don’t loiter at night, don’t do anything you feel is right IN QLD! Don’t go to concerts, don’t make noise, don’t question the wisdom of the blue boys. Don’t build in the city or build in the town, developers come and knock it all down IN QLD! Don’t spit, don’t fart, don’t jaywalk, don’t think, don’t act, don’t even talk. Don’t join a union, don’t vote ALP, just close your eyes and don’t try to see IN QLD!

He hardly recognised her as she fell to the floor The blood was on her face and on her hands He listened to her story then he ran out the door The hatred building in him as he ran Oh, she was all that he had! Oh, it made a young boy mad! He found the place it happened, saw a man inside He didn’t stop to think about it twice The man who was responsible, he had to di And now the time for him to pay the price Oh, she was all that he had! Oh, it made a young boy mad! The front page in the papers told the gruesome tale An innocent man paid another’s price They caught the man then caught the other one as well And now they both share the same prison life Oh, she was all that he had! Oh, it made a young boy mad!

Rudy’s got himself a wife and kids, found a job that pays ok Struggled for a while to make ends meet, nothing saved for rainy days Rudy’s pining for the days of old, plays his Ska LPs to death One of these days he’s going to make a gig, but it hasn’t happened yet Where are you Rudy? Where are you Rude Boy? Where are your Rudy? Where are you Rude Girl? Rude boy’s got himself in trouble again, robbed a local liquor store He’s been in and out of jail for years, but he’s trying for no more Told the judge that now his lesson’s learned, no more time he’ll ever get For this time he’s going to straighten out, but it hasn’t happened yet? Where are you Rudy? etc Rude girl’s cleaning up his mess again, seems it’s never going to end Wonders how it ever came to this, who the hell did she offend? One of these days she’s going to break her chains, ride off into the sunset One of these days she’s going to pack her bags, but it hasn’t happened yet Where are you Rudy? Etc

What’s wrong? What’s New? Greed & Power have got a hold on you Get down! Off your pedestal! Can’t you see what’s going wrong you fools? Working people must stick together, all of them must keep control. Just to put food back on the table, isolate them from the cold. Old man, big shot! The kids of today don’t want to sit and rot Unemployment! Poverty! It seems to be a trend in this country! Is there a Government that’s honest? Organised crime’s got a hold on them They better get their act together, otherwise we’ll all pull the pin?

In the shadows late at night, under stairs and out of sight. Wherever you are, he will be, Inspector Martens you won’t see. He’s got the wraps on the underground, there is no drama, he’s safe and sound. As for the cops, well they won’t mess with the cool, cool guy with the scar on his chest! Inspector Martens! Now there’s a hold-up, what do we do? Inspector Martens, we’re calling on you. Jumps out of bed, puts on his gun, fires up the staff car, no time for fun. He’s got a feeling there’s something wrong! A gun goes off, he’s shot in the chest but that cool, cool guy’s got a bullet-proof vest! Inspector Martens! Shot in the back!

All The Same 03:09
Time sweeping down corridors, people rushing down the street. Cars moving, radios blaring, a dog’s foaming in the street. An old man walks by the doorway, he’s calling out my name. He shakes his head as I shrug my shoulders, why worry? Because it’s all the same. It’s all the same to me! If you’ve got time for your worries, you’ve got no time for anyone else. If you’ve got time for imagination, you think of no one else but yourself! A young girl passes by my window, I know she’s playing a game. Maybe I should invite her in, but why worry? Because it’s all the same! It’s all the same to me! An old man stands by the stairwell, he’s demanding my name!

My mother said to me don’t bring home sleaze or you will end up with a terrible disease. I listen to this as I am wolfing down my food. I go to pubs where I piss up and dance, I have no time for this bullshit romance Getting picked on for messing up a dude. The good and the bad and the hungry and mad, the sick and the poor are all the same. So when you think you are finished, just listen to these lyrics And you might find a ray of hope inside. There don’t hide your face, you make me want to cry! The coppers came and punched and took me away. Expensive hotel? 50 dollars a day. Go to the courthouse, get remanded for a year. They like to make me sit around and wait, try pin the murder of their mate. And now I’m incognito, as I drink another beer, here!

about

The first full length release for The Funaddicts, lovingly crafted over 30 years like a fine malt whisky!
What’s the Rush? It would seem there isn’t one. In 1987 Chris announced on daytime television that we looked forward to be releasing our debut album early next year (1988). Well, we didn’t! Then we broke up! Then we drifted apart! Then, in 2011 we reformed! In 2013, while recording a track for a benefit album we laid down the first beds for the album. Sporadic visits to the studio, when we could afford it, over the next 3 years saw us slowly, but surely, building the album that you are listening to right now. 2 ½ or 30 years in the making you take your pick. Enjoy the music – it’s later than you think!
